The Probationary Officers of the 45th STP got a unique opportunity to interact with the founding members of Ajoka Theatre. Mr. Shahid Nadeem, acclaimed playwright and journalist was accompanied by Nirvaan Nadeem, actor and theatre director. They apprised the POs about the role that Socially Meaningful Theatre can play in raising awareness about key social issues that are plaguing society. The discussion was followed by a screening of Ajoka’s flagship play “DARA” – which, to our credit, is the first Pakistani play to be adapted by the National Theatre in London. The play revolved around themes of empathy, tolerance and pluralism and provided the POs much food for thought about the evolution, place and role of religion in the society of the subcontinent.
