It is indeed a great pleasure for me to welcome all of you to the CSA Portal. The Civil Services Academy (CSA) is the premier pre-service training Academy for newly selected Federal Officers of Pakistan through highly competitive CSS examination. The Common Training Programme (CTP) is conducted at its Walton Campus, while the Specialized Training Programme of Probationary Officers belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) at the PAS Campus, commonly known as the Mall Campus.
The Civil Services Academy aims at transforming the young & bright students into effective civil servants, well equipped to tackle the challenges ahead and finds solution thereof through compassion and public service. The young entrants joining the civil service have attributes of intelligence, ambition and zeal. What is required is to help them understand intricacies of public service and bring the attitudinal change in them for better public service.
Our dedicated faculty achieves this objective by following a well-structured Common Training Programme (CTP). Since officers come with very diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, the Common Training Programme serves as a foundation course for officers of all occupational groups. The training methodology includes multifarious activities including intensive academic sessions, co-curricular activities, extension lectures, panel discussions, workshops, local and countrywide study tours and attachment with Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
The world is changing fast and to keep abreast to its changing requirements, it is imperative that we follow an adaptive approach and technology that plays a pivotal role in adapting to the new challenges. Realizing this need, the CSA has developed its own Digital Learning Management System. At the CSA, LMS for CTP was piloted for the first time as an interactive platform for faculty and probationers during 46th Common Training Programme, which concluded on 30th April 2019. It is not only a step towards a paperless environment, but also essential to keep-up with the requirements of the modern public service delivery. We are further improving upon our experience of this digital platform and it is expected that the revised version will be more effective and useful for the officers of 47th Common Training Programme, which is expected to commence during second half of October, 2019.
Like any other vibrant and dynamic organization, the CSA pays high premium to its Alumni, Alhamdolillah, our network of more than 8500 officers spread across Pakistan and serving the nation with its best abilities. This Portal is an effort to connect the CSA Alumni with their Alma mater more meaningfully. We are developing an Alumni Hall at CSA, Walton Campus, which will help them re-unite with CSA.
I am confident that development of the CSA portal will integrate its family further and together we will be able to serve our nation and beloved country more effectively and compassionately.
